The 2019 OJCS Maccabiah Games have come on gone…and what an incredible success they were! The day started with the students splitting into their colour teams, each representing a different city in Israel: Tel-Aviv Green, Netanya Orange, Haifa Red & Jerusalem Blue. Four Teams, One Heart! After gathering in the gym for the “opening ceremonies” the activities began. With everything from banner painting, to creating their teams’ cheer song, sports & games, to a giant inflatable obstacle course and then ending the day with our family Maccabiah Fair, it was truly an unbelievable event. One student even told Morah Yaffa (@MorahYaffa), “it was the best day of my life!”
While Jerusalem Blue was the winner of the games, the real winner was OJCS and our families. A HUGE todah rabah to all the students, parents, family and friends who donated over $11,800 towards our fundraising campaign!! !!איזה יופי And of course thank you to all the parent volunteers who helped out at the fair. Finally, the whole day would not have been possible without the planning and efforts of our very own Student Life Coordinator, Ms. Bertrend (@DBertrend).
