What a wonderful way to start off the week! Jackie Mills was kind enough to visit the OJCS library and read her new book, Little Synagogue on the Prairie, to all the תלמידים and תלמידות (students) in Kitah Alef & Bet (grade 1 & 2). Ms. Mills, a former teacher, shared her book about the extraordinary voyage of The Montefiore Institute – the most well travelled synagogue in the world! The building’s journey from synagogue to community centre to abandonment to small house and then back to synagogue spans from 1916 to present day Calgary. But that’s not all…In a beautiful act of חסד (kindness) Ms. Mills gave every student their very own copy of the book! A great big todah rabah to Ms. Mills for sharing and gifting her books with OJCS. #TheOJCSDifference #WeLearnBetterTogether #WeAreAlwaysOnInspiringJewishJourneys
